Pitt is fresh off an explosive recruiting weekend that saw nine Class of 2027 prospects announce verbal commitments.

Those recruits increased Pitt’s 2027 class to 18 and a top-20 national ranking, per 247Sports.

On Monday, the good news kept flowing for Pat Narduzzi and Co., who reeled in four-star linebacker Jeremiah Proctor, who announced a pledge on social media.

Proctor, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound specimen from Gainesville, Ga., attends the same high school as fellow Panthers commit Carter Mathis, an offensive lineman.

Now Proctor becomes the first four-star prospect in Pitt’s class, 247Sports listing him as the No. 20 linebacker in the nation and No. 24 overall prospect in Georgia for his class.

Unsurprisingly, Proctor attracted a long list of Power Four scholarship options, with Pitt besting Tennessee, LSU, Colorado, Florida State, Miami, Nebraska, Purdue and many others for his services.

In total, he is the 19th verbal commitment Pitt has secured this cycle and the second linebacker, following three-star Philadelphia (Roman Catholic) native Walter Hudson.
