Tarentum Summer Concert series to feature American Pie

The Tarentum Summer Concert series will open the summer concert season at 7 p.m. Thursday with a performance by the band American Pie in the Carl J. Magnetta Jr. Memorial Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park.

The Snack Shack opens at 6 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by Tarentum Recreation Board.


Highlands Senior Parade to honor Class of 2026

The community is encouraged to turn out for the Highlands High School Senior Parade at 6 p.m. Thursday in Natrona Heights, Harrison.

The parade will start in the high school parking lot and go right on Pacific Avenue, left on Montana, right on Broadview Blvd., right on Municipal Drive to Park Avenue, left on Municipal Drive, left on Broadview Blvd, left on Argonne Drive, left on 12th Avenue, left on California Avenue, right on Pacific Avenue and then back to the school lot.

The traditional “Chalk the Walk” event will begin at 4 p.m. and a DJ and food trucks will be open from 4 to 6 p.m., all at the high school.


Change of Heart to perform at Syria Shrine Center Pavilion

The free Thunder Thursdays Summer Music Series will feature Tom Petty tribute band Change of Heart at the pavilion at the Syria Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way, Harmar.

Concerts start at 7 p.m., rain or shine. Gates open at 6 p.m. There is free parking and seating, and food and beverages will be sold. No tailgating or outside food or drinks are permitted.

The series continues Thursdays through Oct. 8.
