This year’s edition of Pittsburgh’s biggest summer food festival is now slated to be its largest ever.
The 2026 iteration of the Steel City’s annual Picklesburgh celebration is expanding from last year’s home — which included the Roberto Clemente and Andy Warhol Bridges, Allegheny Landing, Allegheny Riverfront Park, Fort Duquesne Boulevard westbound, PPG Plaza and Sixth Street — and outward. It will also encompass the newly renovated Market Square and Arts Landing.
The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership announced the addition for this year’s four-day celebration of all things pickled and pickle-related on Tuesday, to provide more space for peak weekend crowds and accommodate a greater quantity of vendors and activities. The festival, now in its 11th year, will take place July 16-19.
In 2025, the free party that features plenty of off-the-wall pickle-based food and drink creations, live music, games and merchandise was attended by about 208,000 visitors, according to the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.
The region’s Eastern European heritage and its connection to the process of pickling, as well as the historical presence of Heinz, inspired the organization to create the festival back in 2011.
Picklesburgh has since been recognized by USA Today as the Best Specialty Food Festival in America four times and featured as a “Signature Event” by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Tourism Office.
