5801 Pride Weekend

Pittsburgh Pride takes place on Saturday and Sunday in Downtown and the North Side, but there are lots of other Pride-related events happening around town. 5801 Video Lounge and Cafe in Shadyside is holding its traditional Pride festivities all weekend long.

The three-day fun includes indoor and outdoor dance parties, appearances from well-known drag performers including Jimbo the Drag Clown and Kerri Colby, a Sunday drag brunch and a Pride Parade afterparty.

3 Rivers ComicCon

If your interests are more on the nerdy side, don’t miss out on 3 Rivers ComicCon on Saturday and Sunday at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Downtown Pittsburgh.

The convention includes comics artists and writers, a vendor market, cosplay contests of all kinds, panel discussions on a variety of topics and much more. Panel discussions will tackle topics such as Star Wars comics, Godzilla and the 40 years of New Dimension Comics.

Babesburgh Bash

Hey ladies, this one’s for you. This festival for women will rock your Saturday with more than 90 local women-owned vendors and organizations, free fitness and wellness classes, music and entertainment and so much more.

Plus, each ticket comes with a souvenir glass that you can use to sample more than 25 beers, wines, ciders and cocktails. There will also be other free goodies to take home. Fitness classes will range from high-energy, intense workshops to dancing to more zen, relaxing sessions.

PNC Pops’ Disco Divas

Are we looking for some hot stuff this weekend? Put on your sparkliest outfit and highest platform shoes for this program full of the songs of disco divas with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s PNC Pops.

The performance will feature songs from Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan and many more. There will also be a Best Dressed Disco contest, an early Disco Party in Heinz Hall’s Grand Lobby and more. Performing will be the PSO, as well as vocalists Shayna Steele, Kelly LeVesque and Crystal Monee Hall.
