The top softball teams around the state held serve for the most part as we hit the halfway point of the PIAA softball playoffs.
Only one top-ranked team from a week ago drifted down to No. 5 after Kennard-Dale tasted defeat for the first time this season.
The other top-ranked teams remained the same from last week with Central Dauphin in 6A, Shaler in 5A, Sharon in 3A, Bristol in 2A and Union in Class A still No. 1.
With only 24 teams still playing heading into the state semifinals Monday, here is a breakdown district by district on the final four in each class.
District 7 (WPIAL): eight teams remaining
District 1: five teams
District 4: four teams
District 5: two teams
District 10: two teams
District 11: two teams
District 3: one team
That leaves District 2, 6, 8 and 9 as spectators for the final week of the softball season.
