Several hours after Pitt landed a legacy commitment in wide receiver Jaden Baldwin, son of Jon Baldwin, there was more activity on the recruiting front Tuesday that proved to be a mixed bag for the Panthers.
While the Panthers added another commitment in three-star defensive end Cam Aime, 247Sports reported that quarterback Kevin Verpaele decommitted.

Verpaele, a three-star prospect from Merritt Island, Fla., confirmed the news on social media.
With his departure, the Panthers are now without a QB in their Class of 2027.
Verpaele took an official visit to Pitt in late May and had initially committed last October.
As for Aime, he is a 6-foot-4, 215-pounder from Montvale, N.J., and attends St. Joseph Regional High School.
Wake Forest, Minnesota, Nebraska, Rutgers, Missouri, Virginia and Virginia Tech were among his Power Four offers.
Having lost a pledge but adding two Tuesday, Pitt’s Class of 2027 remains at 22 commitments, ranking 22nd nationally.
