Port Authority Police arrest man accused of brutal bus stabbing

Port Authority Police on Wednesday arrested a man accused of repeatedly stabbing another bus passenger last month.

Devante Clark, 31, of Pittsburgh was charged with criminal attempted homicide, terroristic threats and reckless endangerment.

According to police, Clark got into an altercation early last month on the P68-Braddock Hills Flyer. He allegedly pulled a switchblade on the victim — who he had a “beef” with years ago — and stabbed, punched, kneed and stomped him for about a minute, police said.

Port Authority detectives located Clark Downtown Wednesday and arrested him without incident. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

Police investigating shootings across Wilkinsburg, Penn Hills, Pittsburgh

Police are investigating a string of shootings that began late Wednesday night and spanned Wilkinsburg, Penn Hills and Pittsburgh.

Allegheny County 911 received a ShotSpotter alert from the 1600 block of Laketon Road in Wilkinsburg, where they found several shell casings, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

Police believe two women were shot at that Wilkinsburg site and drove to the intersection of Allegheny River Boulevard and Nadine Road in Penn Hills. WTAE reported one of the women was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and a graze to her wrist, and the second was grazed in the leg.

As police were processing the Wilkinsburg scene, they saw two cars speed toward them. A passenger in one car allegedly shot at the second vehicle, which had a child inside, WTAE reported.

Investigators lost sight of the car with the suspected shooter while chasing the vehicle.

The car that was shot at stopped in East Hills, at the intersection of Robinson Boulevard and Sunrise Avenue, and called the police. WTAE crews at the scene saw a vehicle with a shattered window towed from the scene.

Both women taken to the hospital are in stable condition, WTAE reported, and the man and child in the East Hills scene were uninjured.
