A resident of a Downtown Pittsburgh halfway house died Saturday morning, an Allegheny County Jail spokesman said.
The 33-year-old man has not yet been identified.
The man had been placed at the Renewal Center on the Boulevard of the Allies through the jail’s alternative housing program, spokesman Jesse Geleynse said.
The jail was told the man died at a hospital, Geleynse said.
Pittsburgh police were investigating, but did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
It’s not the first time that a person has died at the halfway house.
Thomas Spencer III, 24, died April 17, 2023, after jumping out of a seventh-floor window.
