The Greensburg Business & Professional Association, better known as Shop Greensburg, hosted “Greensburg Celebrates America 250: Salute to Service” on Saturday at St. Clair Park.
In addition to a George Washington reenactor discussing life at Mount Vernon and gazing in awe at every cellphone snapping his photo, the association was also collecting videos for a 100-year time capsule that will be buried this year. It will be filled with interviews of people describing what service means to them and their community.
The afternoon also included food vendors and live music. Below, see the opening song from a set by the Murphy’s Music Center Big Band.
Shop Greensburg’s next big event will be “Red, White & Blue Days,” set for July 9-11 throughout downtown. It will include shopping and live entertainment until 8 p.m. along Pennsylvania Avenue on July 9; special shopping offers throughout downtown on July 10; and food, music and vendors July 11, with a chance to “find Uncle Sam” and win prizes.
