It was a near sweep for the east over the west in the six 2026 PIAA baseball championships at Penn State this past week.
The lone gold for the west came from two-time WPIAL Class 4A winner and now back-to-back PIAA champion Indiana.
Other than the Little Indians’ second straight golden run, the WPIAL was 0-3 in the finals with Butler in 6A, South Park in 3A and Eden Christian Academy in Class A settling for state silver.
District 9 Class 5A winner DuBois and District 10 Class 2A champ Mercyhurst Prep also finished as runners-up in the state finals.
