The Chartiers Valley High School Choirs, under the direction of Mr. Noah Woodward, attended the Music in the Parks adjudication May 30 at Sandusky High School, in Ohio. Each group performed two pieces for the judge, Tracy Nycz, a local 6-12 Choir Director.
The Chartiers Valley contingent fared well:
The Concert Choir took first place with a Superior Rating in the Women’s Choir Division.
The Varsity Choir also earned first-place accolades with a Superior Rating in the Mixed Choir Division.
The Overall High School Choir award was awarded to the Chartiers Valley High School Varsity Choir.
Senior, Olive Marcello, was awarded the Outstanding Soloist award of the competition.
Chartiers Valley High School Choirs were awarded the Esprit de Corps Award, which is the highest honor in the Music in the Parks festival.
The special award recognizes the school that demonstrates the most exemplary character, professionalism, respect and positive support both on- and off-stage.
