‘Tuesdays at Townsend’ concerts

The Murrysville Recreation Department will host its free “Tuesdays at Townsend” summer concert series at 6:30 p.m. on select dates at Townsend Park, 130 Townsend Park Court.

‘Boomers & Beyond’

The Mother of Sorrows Church’s “Boomers & Beyond” series will continue at noon July 14 with a presentation on common skin ailments.

Dr. Lauren Falcone, a dermatologist who works at UPMC Community Medicine, will present “Common Dermatological Ailments: What You Can Do at Home to Treat Them and When to Seek Professional Care.”

It will touch on common issues such as warts, eczema and skin cancers.

It will be in the church’s social hall, 4202 Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville. There is no cost to attend. Attendees are encouraged to bring a bag lunch and a friend. Beverages will be provided.

Senior bocce league seeks players

The Murrysville Senior Center Indoor Bocce League is offering instructions and practice for new players at 12:30 p.m. Mondays during June and July at the Murrysville Community Center, 3091 Carson Ave.

Participants must be 50 or older. Fall league play will begin at 1 p.m. Mondays in August. The league features free play, and openings are available for both regular team members and substitute players.

Murrysville Public Works officials are seeking seasonal workers for the summer. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, available to work a 40-hour week and hold a Pennsylvania driver’s license.

The pay rate is $15 to $17 per hours with no benefits.

‘Wonders & Wisdom’

Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church will host “Wonders & Wisdom,” a faith-discovery educational experience, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church, 4600 Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville.

Led by Joan Batson, the program invites children and caregivers to explore the connections between scripture and science through hands-on learning, storytelling and conversation.

Register by June 22 for the June 27 session.

Library museum passes

Westmoreland County Libraries has partnered with several regional museums to offer free general admission to library-card holders for up to two adults and four children.

Passes can be obtained for Historic Hanna’s Town, West Overton Village, the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Fort Ligonier Museum, the Lincoln Highway Experience, the Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department and the historic Bushy Run Battlefield.

Passes can be checked out for one week.

Card holders are advised to check availability with their local library.

Monthly Lyme disease support group

The PA Lyme Resource Network will host a monthly Lyme disease support group meeting.

Meetings will take place on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Monroeville Public Library, 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd.
