North Huntingdon police this week arrested two people from Allegheny and Westmoreland counties on felony charges of distributing crystal meth and related drug crimes.

Russell B. Heyz, 66, of North Huntingdon and Devin A. Holt, 31, of Wilkinsburg were arrested Wednesday.

Police said Holt arranged a drug deal at a residence owned by Heyz in North Huntingdon.

On Tuesday, an undercover North Huntingdon police officer called Holt to set up a drug buy for crystal meth, according to a criminal complaint.

Holt told the officer to get the drugs from an address on Linshan Drive in the township, the complaint said.

Once the officer arrived the next day, Holt told him to go to the basement, where the drug deal occurred, according to the complaint.

Police then took Holt, Heyz and a third person, who was not named, into custody.

Police said Heyz told them he has given crystal meth to Holt and the other person numerous times.

Investigators seized crystal meth, three digital scales, numerous small plastic bags used to package drugs, and suspected sodium oxybate — a prescription medication used to treat narcolepsy.

Heyz and Holt are being held in Westmoreland County Prison. They were unable to post bail, set at $100,000 each.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. June 26 in District Judge Henry Moore’s office.
