The Pittsburgh Riverhounds turned in the latest in a series of stingy defensive performances Saturday night, but this one didn’t result in a win.
The Hounds played Hartford FC to a scoreless draw on the road in Connecticut, running their record in their last four USL Championship games to 3-0-1.
The Riverhounds (6-4-2) have recorded shutouts in six of their past eight games in all competitions. They’re in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Hartford (4-2-6) is tied for sixth.
In this matchup, the Hounds held a 10-9 advantage in shots, but Hartford had the edge in shots on goal 4-2 and corner kicks 12-3.
It was the third shutout of the season for Riverhounds goalkeeper Nico Campuzano.
The Riverhounds are idle until hosting Brooklyn FC on the Fourth of July at 7 p.m. at F.N.B. Stadium.
