Food pantry distribution

The Garden City Food Pantry will host a series of food distribution days beginning in June.

The food pantry is open from 9-11 a.m. and 6-7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. Food distribution days will take place June 13, July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12 as 500 Laurel Drive in Monroeville.

Summer concert series

Monroeville Parks & Recreation officials have announced the 2024 summer concert lineup. Concerts are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Tall Trees Amphitheater, 2447 Tilbrook Road in Monroeville. Concerts include:

• May 31 and June 1, 2, 7 and 8: Poor Yorick’s Players present “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” 7 p.m. (2 p.m. on June 8)

• June 9: Totally ’80s

• June 16: The Fabulous Gemtones (Vegas-style show and dance)

• June 23: Franchise Band (R&B)

• June 30: NOMAD (rock/country)

• July 7: Bastard Bearded Irishmen (Irish rock/punk)

• July 14: Ferdinand the Bull (folk/indie rock)

• July 21: Jason Kendall (variety/top hits)

• July 28: TBA

• Aug 2-4, 9, 10: Poor Yorick’s Players present “As You Like It,” 7 p.m. (2 p.m. on Aug. 10)

Women host spring lunch

The International Women group will host its annual spring luncheon at 11 a.m. May 24 at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road in Monroeville.

It is the final meeting of the 2023-24 season; meetings will resume in September. All women in the community are invited to attend. Members are asked to bring a dish to share.

Sabers Cheer Camp

Registration is open for Sabers Cheer Camp at Divine Mercy Academy this summer. Any student — girl or boy — going into kindergarten through 8th grade this fall is welcome.

Cheer camp is an opportunity to see what cheerleading is about, learn teamwork skills or find a new way to stay active.

Camp is held June 24-27 from 6-8 pm at Divine Mercy Academy gymnasium. There will be a showcase for family and friends on June 27.

Registration fee is $30 per student. Cash payments or checks made out to DMAAA are accepted. Drop off payment at the school or mail to: Divine Mercy Academy, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville, PA 15146.

June 21 is the last day to register. Anyone who registers by June 1 will receive a free Sabers Cheer T-shirt.

Farmers’ market

The Monroeville Rotary Farmers’ Market’s 2024 season is underway. It takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at the Monroeville Mall between Dick’s and Best Buy, 501 Mall Circle Drive.
