Share Share Share Pittsburgh Public Schools has announced dozens of schools will only be open for half the day on Friday due to the heat forecast. All the schools affected have no air conditioning. Below is a list of schools that PPS says will be on a half-day schedule on Friday. Allderdice Arsenal (PreK-5 and 6-8) Banksville Beechwood Brookline Carrick Chartiers Clayton (including OCA satellite site) Colfax Concord Crescent Dilworth Fulton Grandview Greenfield Liberty Lincoln Linden Manchester Mifflin Miller Montessori Morrow (intermediate building) Morrow (primary building) Northview Heights Early Childhood Center Perry (including OCA satellite site) Roosevelt Early Schiller Science and Technology Spring Garden Spring Hill Sterrett Student Achievement Center Weil Westinghouse Whittier Woolslair Those schools also had a half-day on Wednesday because of the high temperatures. PPS started school for all grades except kindergarten on Monday. The forecast from Pittsburgh's Action Weather shows that Friday will be warm and humid with a high in the upper 80s.
