Dolores R. (Marotta) Butler, 93, of North Apollo, formerly of Russellton, West Deer Township, and Millvale, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at Quality Life Services of Apollo, with her loving family by her side. She was born April 24, 1931, in Millvale, to the late Nicholas H. and Josephine A. (Marsico) Marotta. Dolly grew up in Millvale and Glenshaw, graduating from Shaler High School in 1949. Following high school, Dolly attended a beauty school, earning her license as a beautician, and went to work in her father's barbershop. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer, and the church Y and R Group. Dolly enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and especially spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Gow of North Apollo; grandchildren, Jennifer M. (Travis) Bittinger of Spring Church and John N. (Jodie) Edder of Vandergrift; great-grandchildren, Emma J. Edder, Noah D. Edder, and Levi M. Bittinger. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald S. Marotta, of Feb. 24, 2024. The family invites all to attend a Funeral Mass for Dolly, at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Campus, with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. Following the Mass, Dolly will be laid to rest with her parents in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sharpshill, O'Hara Township.
