A Penn Hills man wanted on several warrants was arrested by Allegheny County sheriff’s deputies Saturday morning after, authorities say, he led police on a chase through Mount Lebanon.

Curtis Norvell Davis Jr., 24, was taken into custody Saturday morning after he led police on a chase that started in Pittsburgh and ended when the car he was driving crashed into a pickup truck in Mount Lebanon, according to police.

Sheriff’s deputies charged Davis with three counts of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver, two counts of aggravated assault by vehicle, a one count each of fleeing to avoid apprehension, eluding police and persons not to possess firearms — all felonies; and three misdemeanor charges of possessing drugs, one of persons not to possess firearms, and traffic summaries.

Davis was wanted on multiple warrants from previous incidents, including charges of robbery, possession of drugs with the intent to deliver, unlawful restraint and terroristic threats, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case.

At 10:10 a.m. Saturday, detectives and deputies with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office tried to serve Davis at his last known address, in the 400 block of Althea Street in Knoxville, but was unsuccessful. Deputies cleared the scene at 10:41.

At 10:45 a.m., a sheriff’s deputy saw Davis driving a black Toyota at the intersection of Estella Avenue and Chalfont Street in Pittsburgh. The deputy tried to pull Davis over, but Davis fled, and a pursuit ensued, the complaint said.

The chase traveled along Route 51 and lasted for about 10 minutes until Davis’ car hit an occupied pickup truck along Castle Shannon Boulevard in Mount Lebanon, disabling both vehicles, the complaint said.

The two women inside the pickup truck were not injured, the complaint said.

Davis was arrested and taken to the hospital, for evaluation of a gunshot wound to his left foot he claimed happened a couple days ago in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh.

He was medically cleared at the hospital and later taken to the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and recovered 15 “bricks” and three bundles of suspected fentanyl, 12.5 grams of cocaine, 24 suboxone films, packaging materials and a digital scale, 9 rounds of ammunition, five cell phones, 45 grams of marijuana, a Glock and $2,960.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Davis had been a fugitive since December when Judge Randal Todd issued a bench warrant for a probation violation in connection to guilty plea to a single drug charge Davis took in January 2023.

A preliminary hearing hasn’t yet been scheduled.
