Trib Total Media TV writer Rob Owen answers reader questions every Wednesday at TribLive.com in a column that also appears in the Sunday Tribune-Review. Q: Does CBS ever intend to air or stream what was going to be last year’s season finale of "FBI” that got pulled after the Texas school shooting? If not,I assume they will have some plot in the premiere to clean up last year’s loose ends? - Michael, via Twitter Rob: Per CBS, the penultimate "FBI” episode, which ended up being the season finale, was not a cliffhanger so there were no loose ends that needed to be dealt with in the season premiere. But that pulled season finale, "Prodigal Son,” will finally air at 8 p.m. Oct. 4. Q: After Guy Junker retired, WTAE-TV added a new sportsperson. Then a few weeks later, the station added yet another that is now doing the weekend sports on TV and Friday Night Lights high school games. So whatever happened to the other sports reporter? - Kevin, via email Rob: Ashley Liotus was a freelancer who was temporarily filling in on WTAE. Subsequently, Channel 4 hired Junker’s replacement, Emily Giangreco. Q: I was planning to watch a rerun of "NCIS: New Orleans” recently on WINP-TV, digital channel 16.1, at 8 a.m. To my shock and surprise, I saw Newsy on that channel, which is also on digital channel 16.6. I was trying to research what happened, but couldn’t find anything. - John, via email Rob: A spokesman for Scripps, owner of Ion and Newsy, said they’re airing Newsy on Ion in selected markets on weekday mornings (8 to 10 a.m.) for a period of time. "Newsy has been producing an abundance of high-quality news, special series and documentaries, and we are giving it some additional exposure over the next few months,” he said. Q: Do you know if there will be a third season of Max Irons’ "Condor” TV show? Season two was on Epix. The internet doesn’t have much about it. - Paul, via email Rob: In February, Epix announced it was developing a third season, but I confirmed a third season has not yet been ordered. So the network is considering making another season but has not yet committed to that production. Q: I keep watching Hallmark to see when the series "When Calls the Heart” will start, but I don’t see or hear anything. Have they discontinued that series? - Dina via voicemail Rob: Hallmark Channel renewed "When Calls the Heart” for a 10th season in June and it’s likely to return with new episodes in February or March, same as it has in recent years. Q: Do you know if "The Lost Gold of World War II” will be coming back on any time soon? I can’t seem to find any information on it. - Stan, via email Rob: It was canceled and won’t be back.
