Church hosts spaghetti dinner

Hampton Presbyterian Church will host a spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 17 to support youth group mission trips.

The menu features spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and desserts in the fellowship hall. Gluten-free options and takeout will be available.

A freewill donation is accepted. Silent auction baskets and raffle baskets will be featured for more fundraising opportunities.

Lenten fish fry

Saints Martha and Mary Parish will host a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays during Lent, except Good Friday, at St. Catherine of Sweden Church on Wildwood Road in Hampton.

Fish dinners offer a choice of baked or fried cod or steamed shrimp and include two side dishes and dessert. Fish sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, fish and shrimp tacos, and pizza also are available. The complete menu is available at stsmarthaandmaryparish.org.

The dining room in St. Catherine’s Farmer Hall is open from 4 to 7, and everything on the menu is available for takeout. Orders can be placed online or calling 412-486-6001. Dinners can be picked up in Farmer Hall or through a curbside delivery lane. Please allow 20 minutes for your order to be prepared and specify your preferred choice for order pickup.

Community cleanup set

Hampton will sponsor a community cleanup program from 8 a.m. to noon April 6 at the Hampton Community Center.

Bags, vests and gloves will be provided. Please wear protective clothing and shoes.

Each volunteer will receive a T-shirt. Children under age 16 must be accompanied by at least one parent/guardian who can drive to the cleanup locations. All volunteers and volunteer groups must have a driver.

Easter Egg-Stravaganza

Easter Egg-Stravaganza is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. March 23 at Glenshaw Presbyterian Church, 300 Glenn Ave., Shaler.

The free event features an egg hunt, crafts, games and snacks for children through third grade and their families.

Order seedlings

North Area Environmental Council is holding its annual seedling sale, offering a variety of non-invasive plants, trees and wildflower seed mixes to add to the beauty and natural habitat of yards and the ecological health of the region.

The council also is partnering with North Park’s Latodami Nature Center to make available lawn-to-nature kits.

Senior softball registration

Registration for the Northern Allegheny County Senior Softball League is open.

The organization is a competitive, slow-pitch league for players in two divisions, ages 50-plus and 62-plus. Tryout evaluations are held in March and April. Games are played from May through August, primarily at the North Park Senior Ballfield Complex at the Lodge in North Park.
