Richard F. Weleski, 80, of Cabot, passed away on Sept. 5, 2024, at his home, with his loving family by his side. He was born April 15, 1944, in Winfield Township, the son of the late Martin Sr. and Anna Blascheck Weleski. Rich has been a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish-St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cabot since birth. He was one of the original founders of the famous Fall Festival chicken dinners, held in Sept. at St. Joseph Church. He was part owner and weighmaster at the family business, Winfield Lime and Stone Co., Inc. since 1962, until the plant closed Nov. 2011. He loved spending time with his dear wife, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed working in his yard, and loved watching sports, especially the Steelers and Pitt basketball and football. Not Penn State!! Rich was a 1962 graduate of Knoch High School. He was a varsity basketball player from 1959 to 1962. He was a co-captain and starting point guard on the Knoch High School basketball team in 1961 to 1962, one of the top basketball teams in school history. He also continued playing basketball and softball in various leagues and tournaments after he graduated. Surviving are his loving wife, Diana (Cooper) Weleski, whom he married April 20, 1968; his two loving daughters, Kamara (Frank) Farester of Ford City, and Viki Nulph of Cabot; his dearly loved grandchildren, Kaitlin (Levi) Goheen of Sarver, and Andrew Olczak of Cabot; and his great-grandson, Weston Goheen; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Goheen of Sarver; and his brother, Robert (Kathy) Weleski of Cabot. Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Ed, Martin Jr, Raymond, and Charles; his sisters, Anna Margaret Boldy, Helen Sepich, Dorothy Rockar, and Lucille Green; and his Little Yorkies, Angel, and Damian. Damian and his paw print will go with Rich. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at the FOX FUNERAL HOME, INC., in Saxonburg. A blessing service will follow at 12 p.m. with Father Ward officiating. Burial will be in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
