SportsNet Pittsburgh released a multitude of broadcasting and programming notes Monday ahead of the Penguins’ season-opening contest Wednesday vs. the New York Rangers at PPG Paints Arena.

That game will be broadcast nationally by TNT, but SportsNet Pittsburgh will provide one hour’s worth of pre- and postgame content.

Josh Getzoff returns as the Penguins’ television play-by-play announcer, with Colby Armstrong, Mike Rupp and Phil Bourque providing analysis.

Armstrong, Matt Bartkowski, Jay Caufield, Ryan Malone and Rupp will rotate in-studio to offer further analysis, joined by newcomers Tyler Kennedy, Craig Patrick and Max Talbot.

Dan Potash and Hailey Hunter return as in-studio hosts, in addition to sharing rinkside reporting duties.

“Inside Penguins Hockey,” hosted by Potash, returns this year and will air six 30-minute episodes.

Getzoff also will host a segment entitled “Penguins Game Plan,” where he will be joined by a rotation of guests such as coach Mike Sullivan and general manager Kyle Dubas.

A total of 69 Penguins games will be aired by SportsNet Pittsburgh, which also handles broadcasting for the Pirates.

The first Penguins game SportsNet Pittsburgh will broadcast is Oct. 10’s away game against the Detroit Red Wings.
