The State of Black Learning Conference wrapped just a few days ago, and Black staff and educators are still raving about the success of the multiple day event.

"This was my first time attending the State of Black Learning (SBL), because I recently received my teaching certification. I heard about the event from one of my fellow educator friends, and I'm so happy she did. My favorite part was connecting with educators that look like me and the wealth of knowledge people had," Serenity Sampson said.

Educators engaged in breakout sessions, workshops, panel discussions, networking, boat rides, delicious bites, dancing, and more.

"Not only is this conference educational but it's so fun!" Tenel Wilford said.

"As a huge fan of Abbott Elementary, of course my favorite part was hearing from Joyce Abbott," Kendrick Hagen said.

The comedic star of Abbott Elementary, Quinta Brunson named her show after her favorite teacher, Joyce.

The Dinner & Discussion included an array of geniuses in education

They left attendees with countless gems, inspiration and a fire to continue serving young Black people. Panelists included...

Thaddaeus Peay II, @thaddaeus.peayii

Joyce Abbott, @therealmsabbott

Chrystopher Moultrie, @chrysstheeducator

Atasha James, @mrs.atashamjames

Until next year.
