Mary Ann (Hanrahan) Bishop, 88, of New Alexandria, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Aug. 4, 1934, in New Castle, a daughter of the late John C. and Dorothea (Coffman) Hanrahan. Mary Ann was a 1952 graduate of McKeesport High School and a 1955 graduate of the McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to retirement, she worked as a registered nurse for McKeesport Hospital. Mary Ann was a member of Community United Presbyterian Church in New Alexandria and served as an elder, deacon and Moderator of Presbyterian Women. She also held various offices with the New Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Mary Ann belonged to the McKeesport Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and the Latrobe Area AARP (Chapter No. 4907). She volunteered at the New Alexandria Library. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Thomas F. Bishop, in September of 2000; and her brother, Paul Hanrahan. She is survived by three children, Beth Bishop Mongelluzzo, of Delmont, John F. (Jack) Bishop and wife, Heidi, of Pickerington, Ohio, and James T. (Jim) Bishop and wife, Susan, of Jupiter, Fla.; five grandchildren, (Beth's children) Danielle Higginbotham (and husband, Brian), Anthony Mongelluzzo and Vincent Mongelluzzo, (Jack's children) Bryce Bishop (and wife, Katie) and Cameron Bishop, and (Jim's children) Olivia Bishop and Quinn Bishop; three great-grandchildren, Harper Higginbotham, Milo Mongelluzzo and Leo Mongelluzzo; a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Lettieri and husband, John, of Louisville, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Eileen Hanrahan, of Dravosburg; and several nieces and nephews. She loved her family, friends and church. She was caring and supportive to all who knew her. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023, at Community United Presbyterian Church, 1640 Keystone Park Road, New Alexandria, PA 15670, where a funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, with Pastor Leonard B. Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. P.
