A Youngstown, Ohio man prohibited from having a gun was jailed Friday night for allegedly hiding three handguns, three boxes of ammunition and multiple ammo magazines inside a briefcase at the Pittsburgh International Airport, Allegheny County Police said.

The briefcase that belonged to Luis Rojas Cay, 26, was stashed inside another piece of checked luggage that was discovered by Transportation Security Administration guards around 8:40 p.m. Friday at the airport, according to county police.

The guns and ammunition were individually wrapped in foil inside the briefcase.

Authorities determined the luggage belonged to Cay.

Cay, who is on probation in Ohio, is not permitted to possess firearms, county police said.

Cay was taken to Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh and was awaiting arraignment on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license, police said.

The FBI was notified, and the county police seized the firearms.

Additional details were not immediately available Saturday.
