Runners can register for the 2025 Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend on Wednesday.

Registration opens at 10 a.m. online for the races, which will take place from May 2-4. The marathon takes place on Sunday, May 4.

New this year, P3R is hosting an Opening Day Block Party on Federal Street outside Mike’s Beer Bar from 5-8 p.m., featuring a live DJ, photo ops, and games.

The first 100 attendees will receive a free drinkware item, and there will be giveaways with items like Garmin Wearables, massage guns, 4RUN2 training gear, Brooks running shoes and more, according to Race Roster.

There will also be a 5K and mile run starting at 6:15 p.m. at the block party.

Anyone who registers for the events on opening day will receive special pricing, P3R said. The first 100 participants who sign up on opening day — and commit to run for charity — will receive an exclusive, limited-edition Run for a Reason Charity Program coffee mug.

In 2025, P3R said charity runners and walkers are projected to raise over $1.5 million for local and national causes.

The Pittsburgh marathon weekend is expected to bring in more than 40,000 participants in 11 different events, according to P3R.
