Paula Joan Shumaker, 71, of Greensburg died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at home. She was born Jan. 10, 1953, in Jacksonville, FL, a daughter of the late Paul Kingston and Joan Gardner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Greg Byers and Paul Kingston and her first husband Edward Smiley. Paula retired from the USPS where she worked as a letter sorter and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Irwin. She loved attending concerts in St. Clair Park, especially oldies music, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband, Jim Shumaker of Greensburg; children, Tullyne Turnbull (Eric) of Greensburg, Jason Smiley (Elaine) of SC, and Edward Smiley (Ashley) of Greensburg; stepchildren Veronica Michleski (Keith) of Wexford, Theresa Whitefield (Kevin) of Penn, Lisa Sherin (James) of Greensburg and Michael Shumaker of Greensburg; siblings David Kingston (Terrance) of Pittsburgh, Rebecca Tenant (Barry) of Fl and Robert Kingston of TN; grandchildren Corey, Elyse, Culin, Ethan, Cole, Sean, Nolan, Abigail, and Jacob; stepgrandchildren Samantha, James, Nathan, Jason, Rose, Jeremy, and Christina; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, PA. Private interment will take place at Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
