Ryan Walsh won a 6-5 decision over Mason Hartung in the final bout of the night at 189 pounds to lead Bethel Park to a 26-19 victory over North Allegheny in a back-and-forth battle in the WPIAL Class 3A team wrestling quarterfinals Wednesday night.

Landon Hartman (285) recorded the only pin of the match, Pierce Reinhart (114), Mason Kernan (133) and Ian Bucheli (145) won decisions, and Seth Miller (127) and Cordan McDonnell (160) each won major decisions for the Black Hawks (11-1), who bested North Hills, 39-15, in the first round.

Evan Schomberg (107), Gus Stedeford (121), Griffen Reid (139), Travis Stipetich (152) and Aidan Buggey (285) won decisions and Kellen Buggey (172) won a major decision for the Tigers (17-4), who beat Baldwin, 55-15, in the first round.

Bethel Park advances to the semifinals Saturday to take on Trinity.

Burgettstown 52, Montour 15 - Noah Leininger (114), Parker Sentipal (133), Rudy Brown (160), Eric Kovach (172), Aiden States (189) and Joey Baronick (285) recorded pins as host Burgettstown (9-0) defeated Montour (7-2) in the Class 2A quarterfinals.

Darius Simmons (107), Dylan Slovick (127) and Logan Noyes (152) won major decisions and Gaven Suica (139) won a decision for the Blue Devils. Anthony Esposito (121) and Rook Smith (145) had pins and Alex Dusch (215) won a decision for the Spartans.

Montour defeated Frazier, 45-30, in the first round while Burgettstown handled Laurel, 55-15. The Blue Devils advance to a semifinal matchup with Mt. Pleasant on Saturday.

Quaker Valley 39, McGuffey 23 - Sawyer Stelzig (215) won a decision, Chase Kretzler (285) and Isaac Maccaglia (114) recorded pins and Bruce Anderchak (107) won a major decision as host Quaker Valley (12-1) won the last four matches, coming back from a 23-20 deficit to beat McGuffey (12-2) in the Class 2A quarterfinals.

Jack Kazalas (139) won by tech fall, Matthew Danna (145) won a decision and Marcus Richey (160) had a pin for the Quakers.

Emmett Wolfe (121), Brody Wagner (127) and Michael Costalo (152) recorded pins, Lucas Barr (133) and Reid Teagarden (172) won major decisions and Aaron Supler (189) won a decision for the Highlanders, who defeated Freedom, 50-18, in the first round.

Quaker Valley, which dispatched Hopewell in the opening round, 60-15, advances to the semifinals Saturday to meet Burrell.

Trinity 43, Norwin 19 - Mickey Horne won a decision at 107 pounds to give Trinity (10-0) the lead for good in a Class 3A quarterfinal victory over Norwin (12-6).

The top-seeded Hillers won six of the last seven bouts, getting pins from Jacob Wright (114), Zane Garner (127) and Blake Reihner (140), a major decision from Devin Junko (133) and a decision from Thomas Allison (145). Cael Nicolella (160) won by decision and Bodie Morgan (172) and Robert Allison (189) by pin as Trinity won three straight bouts earlier in the match.

Jack White (152) opened the match with a major decision for Norwin. Aiden Pham won by fall at heavyweight to give the Knights their last lead at 16-15. Landon Sidun (121) won by decision.

In the first round, Norwin defeated Plum, 39-27, and Trinity beat Kiski Area, 55-18. Trinity will take on Bethel Park in Saturday’s semifinals.

Connellsville 34, Fox Chapel 24 - Nolan Rice (114) and Zachary Franks (121) won one-point decisions in back-to-back bouts to lead Connellsville (11-2) to a Class 3A quarterfinal win.

The Falcons also got pins from Chris Cook (215) and Tommy Gretz (107), tech falls from Lonzy Vielma (160) and Kai Vielma (133) and decisions from Nicholas Rohal (172) and Julian Ruggieri (139).

Alexander Kaufmann (152), Daniel Noel (127) and Andrew Kratsa (145) had pins and Joseph Geller (189) and D`Angelo Hamilton (285) won by decision for Fox Chapel (13-2), which this season won a section title for the first time since 1971.

In the first round, Connellsville defeated Ringgold, 52-12, and Fox Chapel beat Peters Township, 37-24. The Falcons will face Franklin Regional in Saturday’s semifinals.

Boys basketball

Allderdice 79, Carrick 50 - Logan Golle led all scorers with 31 points and Ma’ayan Kohai produced 10 to lead Allderdice (15-3, 7-0) over Carrick (7-10, 3-4) in City League play. Brayden Fisher scored 17, Kelenn Ward followed with 16 and Ray Saunders had 15 for the Raiders.

Blackhawk 71, Hopewell 69 - Justin Shanor scored the game-winning layup as time expired and finished with 19 points, lifting Blackhawk (5-14, 2-7) past Hopewell (7-12, 1-9) in Section 2-4A. Tyler Heckathorn had 23 points and 17 rebounds for the Cougars. Mason Showrank scored 18, Thomas Pipkins III had 15, Jacob Kovell chipped in with 13 and Zach Gigliotti followed with 11 for the Vikings.

Ellwood City 67, New Brighton 31 - Joe Roth had 23 points and Aaron Lake scored 17 for Ellwood City (12-7, 7-3) in a Section 1-3A win. Michael Veon had 10 for New Brighton (2-14, 0-8).

Moniteau 65, Laurel 54 - Luca Santini led all scorers with 17 points for Laurel (2-16) in a nonsection loss against Moniteau. Chanson Delrosa-Rugg, Landon Kelly and David Dessicino scored 14 points apiece for the Warriors.

Peters Township 84, Ringgold 41 - Jack Dunbar led all scorers with 20 points, Sean Thelk and Dylan Donovan each scored 14 and Cam Mills added 11 for Peters Township (13-5, 5-2) in a Section 1-5A win. Szyair Dungee posted 15 points and Daryl Tolliver had 10 for Ringgold (3-16, 0-8).

Propel Braddock Hills 51, Propel Andrew Street 32 - Elijah Toole-Fowler scored 11 points and Johnathan Price followed with 10 for Propel Braddock Hills (5-12) in a nonsection win. Darryl McCullough had 13 points to lead Propel Andrew Street (7-5).

Valley 63, Apollo-Ridge 32 - Keyziah Clay and Tayshawn Hawkins scored 22 points apiece to propel Valley (5-12, 3-6) to a win in Section 3-3A. Breydon Orvosh had 12 points on four 3-pointers for Apollo-Ridge (2-18, 0-10).

Waynesburg 48, West Greene 37 - Alex Vansickle led Waynesburg (6-12) with 16 points in a nonsection win against West Greene (11-6). Lane Allison scored 16 and Parker Burns added 14 points for the Pioneers.

Girls basketball

Chartiers-Houston 67, Sto-Rox 16 - Ava Capozzoli put up 18 points, Allison Wingard hit for 13 and Ella Richey added 10 as Chartiers-Houston (14-5) rolled to a nonsection win over Sto-Rox (4-14).

Serra Catholic 53, Ellis School 20 - Abby Genes scored 15 points while Bri Battles and Caitlin Cooley each put up 10 for Serra Catholic (14-4, 7-2) in a Section 3-2A win. Ellis School (6-12, 1-8) was led by Kallie Kristian’s 10 points.

St. Joseph 68, Redbank Valley 59 - Julie Spinelli racked up 35 points and Gia Richter produced 15 to lead St. Joseph (16-2) over Redbank Valley in nonsection play. Myles Harmon scored 28 points and Addy Bond added 20 for the Bulldogs.

Uniontown 54, California 46 - A’kira Dade dropped 28 points, Geelece Ingram added 12 and Emily Myers finished with 10 as Uniontown (6-13) defeated California (8-10) in nonsection play. Rakiyah Porter scored 19 and Hayley Gibson netted 18 for California.
