Below is an adaptation of a proclamation which was presented to VFD #7 on September 21, 2024 Under the leadership of Chief Bill Jeffcoat, who on September 20th celebrated 25 years as a Volunteer Firefighter, Penn Hills Volunteer Fire Department #7, celebrated its 75th year anniversary. Since 1949 Penn Hills Volunteer Fire Department # 7 has served and protected the residents, businesses and properties in Penn Hills and surrounding communities through mutual aid. Volunteer Fire Department # 7 has carried out its mission for 75 years through the sacrifices of the men, women and their families who have served the Department since its humble beginnings. It has always been made up of brave men and women of all backgrounds, races and faiths who have answered the call for the last 75 years, always putting their own lives on the line to protect our community. Volunteer Fire Department # 7 has always answered the call, for every fire, disaster and emergency, whether it be natural or man-made, that has threatened the lives or properties in Penn Hills for the last 75years. On September 21, 2024, we gathered to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Penn Hills Volunteer Fire Department #7 and its heroic legacy. It is fitting and proper to give recognition to the men and women who are with us and to those in memory, who have served in its ranks and have ever had the proud distinction to call themselves Volunteer Firefighters in the place we call home - Penn Hills.
