Mildred Hale, 94, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, October 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 26, 1929, to the late James, Sr. and Margret Ballard Luster. Mrs. Hale was a devoted mother and a dietician at Allegheny Valley Hospital, in Natrona Heights, for almost 20 years. She was a devoted member of the Vermont Baptist Church, where she served as their pianist and organist for 60 years. She also served the church as a deaconess, church trustee, choir director and was an active participant in the church's Pearl Peoples Missionary Society and the Building Fund Committee. Mrs. Hale was organist at Ross G. Walker Funeral Home for many funerals. Mildred enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, cooking and traveling, was a Democratic Committee Woman and election poll worker. She enjoyed flower gardening, all church activities and making chocolates and candies for the holidays. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Alexander Hale, Sr.; son, Carl Alexander Hale, Jr.; daughter, Rev. Shirley Anne Hale; and siblings, Katherine Moore, Ellena Cornett, Beverley Luster and James Luster, Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Pamela (Harold) Macon, Carol Kenney and Melinda Staten; grandchildren, Edward, Elliott, Marquietta, Chanelle, Jeremiah, Kent and Jacyntia; great-grandchildren, Gemyla, Madison, Zariah, Paige, Peyton, King, Antwon, Liam, Ava and Jordan; and a host of great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 14, at 11 a.m., in Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church/Vermont Baptist Church, 1150 Asa W. Roberts Way (formerly Fourth Avenue), New Kensington. Anyone attending the service is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
