Restoration project approved

Leetsdale council voted 6-0 July 11 to award a $4,375 restoration project to NWS Contracting. The company was the lowest of two bidders to fix the restrooms at Henle Park. Construction is expected to begin the first week in August.

Volunteers needed

Volunteers are needed for a community garden in Leetsdale. It is unclear where the garden will be located.

Business networking

BNI Village Connections will host an in-person business networking meeting at the Walter J. Brannon Community Center on Aug. 1 from 7:30-9 a.m. All business professionals are welcome to attend. For more information, call 412-908-1388.

Vacancies need to be filled

There is one vacancy on Leetsdale’s zoning hearing board and two vacancies on the parks and recreation board.

The ZHB term ends in December 2027. The park and rec terms end at the end of this year.

Library event planned

Sewickley Public Library hosts a different food truck every Thursday from 4-7 p.m. this summer at 500 Thorn Street. Momma-licious is planned for July 25, The BoonSeek is set for Aug. 1 and Mr. Bulgogi is scheduled for Aug. 8. More information is available at sewickleylibrary.org.

Hard to recycle

A hard-to-recycle event is planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 27 in Leetsdale Industrial Park, 380 Leetsdale Industrial Drive.

Cost is $5 per participant. It includes unlimited recycling of cell and home phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment, microwave ovens, stereo equipment, VCD and DVD players, and more.

There are additional fees for fluorescent tubes, printers, tires, TVs and Freon appliances.
