Sewickley’s Ultimate Pastry Shop has been recognized by Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania with its Friendship Circle Award for more than a decade of supporting local troops and volunteers.

Barbara Cooley Thaw and Linda Nicolaus presented the award to business owner Tina Echement at Glen Oaks Girl Scouts’ annual day camp at Walker Park. The Ultimate Pastry Shop donated sugar cookies and icing that were used toward earning cooking badges at various age levels.

Over the last 12 years, the Ultimate Pastry Shop has consistently supported Girl Scout programming and product sales. They have provided baked goods at no charge for volunteer events, promoted Girl Scout cookie sales in their establishment, despite direct competition with their own product line, and the owners have been vocal advocates of Girl Scouting in the community. Their storefront on Beaver Street in Sewickley is known not only as a place to acquire the highest quality baked goods, but also as a safe space in the community where all are welcome and everyone is accepted for who they are.
