Quaker Valley School District families celebrated the class of 2024 and their transition from students to alumni May 30 at Chuck Knox Stadium.
Several administrators and school board members congratulated the 155 graduates as they walked across the stage to get their diplomas.
The high school concert band, led by director Cory Neville, opened the ceremony with a performance of “pomp and circumstance.”
The vocal ensemble sang the national anthem and principal Deborah Riccobelli welcomed everyone to the event.
Class of 2024 poet laureate Everest Gray recited “All the Space (Where I Am Not Afraid to Go).”
Attendees and graduates also heard encouraging words from school board vice president Daniela Helkowski, superintendent Tammy Andreyko and student speakers Olivia Berry, John McHenry and Hanna Carver.
The concert band and choir led the crowd in a singing of the alma mater after diplomas were presented.
Students scrambled shortly afterward to take photos with family and friends at the Leetsdale field.
District officials said it was a tremendous evening with everyone in good spirits and hardly a cloud in the sky.
