Mary Evonne (Schmitt) Elder, 83, of Manor, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Mary is survived by her daughter, Linda (Scott) Baughman; grandchildren, Jordan and Seth Baughman; brother, Ed (Marie) Schmitt; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Schmitt and Kay Stoner; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Richard Elder Sr.; son, Don Elder Jr.; parents, John and Martha Jane Schmitt; and brother, John Schmitt. Mary was a member of Young at Heart. She was an active member of St. Barbara Church for 55 years. Mary worked at Baldock, where she spent 17 years as a nurse's aide before she retired. She was always looking for a good laugh.
