Irene P. (Nason) Brooks, 101, of Irwin, died Tuesday, May 21, 2024. She was born August 19, 1922, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late William and Anna Balinsky Nason. Prior to her retirement, Irene was a Dietary Aide for the Briarcliff Pavilion Nursing Home in North Huntingdon. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the 'Parents without Partners' group. Her life revolved around her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. They were the loves of her life. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and has been a lifelong enthusiast of the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Penguins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Brooks; granddaughter, Ashley Jones; grandson, Michael Borland; son in law, Richard Borland; and brother, Edward Nason. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Borland of Irwin and Marlene Jones (David) of North Irwin; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Borland (Jessica), Lauren Jones, Brandon Jones and Alyssa Borland; five great grandchildren, Skylar Borland, Xander Little, Taylor and Connor Borland and Harlow Jones; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Irene, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin, 724 863-8900. Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin.
