Acting Up Club

South Hills Church of the Nazarene, 5601 Library Road, Bethel Park, presents the next session of the Acting Up Club 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 28 through Dec. 11.

The drama and music club for children in secnd through sixth grades features music, movement, and acting skills as they prepare for the musical “The Christmas County Spelling Bee.”

Lions flea market

Bethel Park Lions Club will sponsor a flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 10 at Lions Park, 5757 Irishtown Road.

Rentals are available at $15 for half a table or $25 for a full table. Call Nancy at 412-951-4196.

The event is rain or shine. All tables will be under cover.

Dean Streator concert series

The 2024 Dean Streator Summer Concert Series, sponsored by the Bethel Park Community Foundation, continues with performances at 2:30 p.m. in the Bethel Park Community Center auditorium:

• July 28 — Allegheny Brass Band will entertain with a wide variety of musical styles.

• Aug. 4 — Keystone Chorus wraps up the series with barbershop harmonies and sing-alongs.

The concerts are free, but contributions to the community foundation are welcome. The Foundation funds scholarships and projects that benefit residents of Bethel Park in the areas of arts and culture, health and recreation, education and safety.

Doors open at 1:30. Parking is limited.

Garage Sale in Park

The Bethel Park Business Association is taking vendor applications for its third Annual “Garage Sale in the Park,” scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 14 on Industrial Boulevard in the Bethel Park Industrial Park.

Environmental lecture series

Thanks to a donation by the N. David & Janet M. Campbell Family Foundation, the Bethel Park Historical Society again will team up with the Allegheny Land Trust for an environmental lecture series in 2024-25.

The lectures will be held at the Schoolhouse Arts and History Center, 2600 South Park Road.

The first lectures are on Sept. 9: “Animal Athletes,” 5 to 6 p.m., and “All About Hummingbirds,” 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Farmers’ market continues

The Bethel Park Farmers’ Market takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Sept. 25 in the parking lot in South Park along Corrigan Drive. Enjoy musical guests, special educational speakers, story time with friends from the Bethel Park Public Library and more.
