Penn Hills Library NOVEMBER Library Programming Schedule ALL PROGRAMS ARE FREE! THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH FOR VETERANS DAY AND THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH FOR THANKSGIVING. CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS SCAVENGER HUNT All Month Long Join us every month for a library Scavenger Hunt and earn that month's special prize! Scavenger hunts promote information literacy and teamwork in a fun- filled way. This month's theme is "book characters." BABY RHYME TIME Every Tuesday at 10:30 AM (except Nov. 11th) Saturday, November 1st at 10:30 AM: Bond with your little one and meet other parents and caregivers while doing so! We will explore the fun of rhythm and rhymes, bounces, and books to support early learning. Best for pre-walkers and crawlers, but all are welcome! PITTSBURGH SCIENCE WORKSHOP POP-UP Saturday, November 1st at 11:30 AM: Come join Pittsburgh Science Workshop at the library for joyful hands-on projects that explore all branches of science! This is a drop-in program fit for all ages. MAKER LAB Saturdays, November 1st and 15th at 1:30 PM and Tuesday, November 25th at 4:30 PM: Calling all Junior Makers ages 6 to 11! We will learn how to use machines and equipment to create something completely new! Please register. KIDZSTIX CARDIO DRUMMING Tuesday, November 4th at 1:30 PM and Mondays, November 10th and 24th at 4:30 PM: Get moving at this high energy drumming and dance program led by certified fitness instructor Coleen Bortz! Please register. FALL INTO ART Tuesdays, November 4th and 18th at 4:30 PM: Fall colors are all around us! Make some colorful art perfect for all ages. We will be making foil printed trees and sun catchers. Please register. MUSIC & MOVEMENT Every Wednesday at 10:30 and 11:30 AM: Come to the library to sing, move, dance, and make music together in this music-based program! Music & Movement is designed for children ages 1 to 4 years old and focuses on developing gross motor skills. PRESCHOOL IRISH DANCE Thursdays, November 6th and 13th at 10:30 AM: A creative dance class for preschoolers inspired by traditional Irish dance, music, rhythm, and storytelling. Led by certified Irish dance instructor(s). WIGGLES & GIGGLES: TODDLER TIME Every Friday at 10:30 AM: We will wiggle and giggle together as we share age- and developmentally- appropriate interactive stories, action songs, movements, and fingerplays. LET'S MOVE!: PRESCHOOL PALS Saturdays, November 8th and 22nd at 10:30 AM: Preschoolers get moving with action songs and rhymes, movement, and interactive stories that expand the imagination, inspire self-discovery, and develop early literacy skills. KIDS' KARAOKE Saturday, November 8th and Wednesday, November 26th at 1:30 PM: With mic in hand, sing along to your favorite song as it comes up on our karaoke machine at the library! Please register. STORYTIME WITH PAAR Wednesday, November 12th at 5:30 PM and Saturday, November 15th at 10:30 AM: Join educator Gail Brown from PAAR for a Storytime that uses books and songs to introduce the idea of personal space and boundaries.
