C Jason Delay (.286) was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI singles. 2B Ji Hwan Bae (.344) was 1 for 2 with a two-run triple and three walks. SS Liover Peguero (.261) was 1 for 5 with an RBI single. RHP Beau Sulser (4-7, 5.23) tossed five shutout innings, allowing just two hits, and struck out five to earn the win. RHP Aaron Shortridge (5.58) was charged with two runs on three hits and fanned two in 2⅓ innings. LHP Justin Bruihl (3.23) walked one and struck out one, while allowing two hits in a third of an inning. RHP Ryder Ryan (4.71) struck out one in his 1⅓ shutout innings. CF Nick Yorke (.337) was 0 for 4 with a pair of strikeouts and two groundouts.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 60-75) smacked Richmond (Giants), 8-1. CF Matt Frazier (.245) went 2 for 2 with his fifth home run of the year, doubled and finished with three RBIs. RF Tres Gonzalez (.236) went 1 for 4 with an RBI single. SS Termarr Johnson (.178) went 1 for 3 with an RBI single and a sacrifice fly. C Endy Rodriguez (.167) singled and struck out, going 1 for 4. RHP Emmanuel Chapman (3.57) started and tossed three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out two. LHP Blake Townsend (2.57) threw two shutout innings and gave up only a hit. LHP Cy Nielson (7.20) surrendered one run on two hits, walked three and fanned two in two innings of relief. RHP Jack Carey (6-3, 3.75) yielded just one hit and no runs in his two innings for the win.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 75-55) won the second game of their SAL Division Series, 3-1, over Hudson Valley (Yankees). RHP Wilber Dotel (0.00) got the start and tossed three scoreless innings, allowing one hit, walking one and striking out four. RHP Garrett McMillan (1-0, 0.00) sent down seven via the strikeout, walked one and gave up three hits in five scoreless to earn the win. RHP Valentin Linarez (9.00) gave up a solo home run in the ninth and struck out a pair for the save. 3B Jack Brannigan (.000) was 0 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout but scored on an error by Hudson Valley’s catcher on a strikeout by 1B Omar Alfonzo (.286) in the first and drove in SS Javier Rivas (.000) on a flyout in the sixth. Alfonzo finished the game 1 for 4 with a single and a strikeout. DH Mitch Jebb (.250) was 1 for 4 with an RBI single in the eighth. The Grasshoppers look to take the series in Game 3 on Friday night.
