Penn Hills Library AUGUST Library Programming Schedule ALL PROGRAMS ARE FREE! ALL-AGES PROGRAMS West African Drum Class Mondays, August 3rd and 17th at 6:30 PM: Experience the powerful rhythms of West Africa! Participants will learn the fundamentals of traditional djembe drumming, including basic hand techniques, rhythm patterns, and the cultural history behind the music. Please register. Making with Mocktails Saturday, August 8th at 1:30 PM: Join us for some summer drinks and fun crafts. This is an all-ages event with different craft activities per age group. Please register. Library in the Park Sunday, August 16th from 12:00 to 2:00 PM: Join us for an offsite library event in Lincoln Park at the Penn Hills Multi-Purpose Center (2025 Lincoln Road Verona, PA 15147). Read and Craft: Superhero Stories Saturday, August 1st at 1:30 PM: Join us for fun read-alouds followed by an art project inspired by the books! This month we will be reading books based on superhero stories. Please register. Baby Rhyme Time Every Tuesday and Saturday, August 22nd at 10:30 AM: Bond with your little one and meet other parents and caregivers while doing so! We will explore the fun of rhythm and rhymes, bounces, and books to support early learning. Best for pre-walkers and crawlers, but all are welcome! Science Up Close Tuesdays, August 4th and 11th at 3:30 PM: Discover the world of "micro" while you use handheld microscopes to see the world up close and unearth some interesting discoveries! We will focus on asking questions, making observations, and more! Designed for ages 6-11, but all are welcome. Please register. Music & Movement Every Wednesday at 10:30 and 11:30 AM and Wednesday, August 26th at 5:30 PM: Come to the library to sing, move, dance, and make music together in this music-based program! Music & Movement is designed for children ages 1 to 4 years old and focuses on developing gross motor skills. Art Explorers Thursdays, August 6th and 13th at 5:00 PM: Unleash your artistic creativity! Each date will feature different projects, so feel free to attend both. Please register.
