Woman injured in Brentwood crash

A woman was injured early Monday when she crashed the car she was driving into a Brentwood building, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV.

Crews were called just before 3 a.m. to the 4200 block of Clairton Boulevard.

The driver, a woman in her 20s, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the building, causing a fire, officials said.

She was not conscious when first responders arrived on scene. She was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.


Pair killed in motorcycle crash

Two men were killed Sunday in a motorcycle crash in Butler County, according to Trib news partner WPXI.

Zachary McGregor, 32, of West Sunbury, and Caleb Kiely, 31, of Petrolia, were riding on a motorcycle when it crashed around 6 p.m. along Route 38 near North Wayne Street in Eau Claire, state police said.

The motorcycle went onto its side and struck a pickup, police said. The men were pronounced dead at the scene.


Fire fundraiser scam alert

Derry Volunteer Fire Company is warning people about a scam.

Fire officials posted to social media that people are falsely soliciting money by text and online for several departments in the area.

One user commented that they received a request to purchase a Derry Fire Co. T-shirt. Officials said it is fake.

“We do not do any online sales,” the post said. “Please use caution and notify us with any questions.”


Giant Eagle to hold hiring event

About 150 jobs are up for grabs this week at Giant Eagle.

A hiring fair Tuesday is seeking positions for the bakery, personal shopping, meat department, deli and more.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at several area stores.

New employees are being sought largely in the North Hills area, including the Pine Market District and Giant Eagle stores in Wexford, Seven Fields and Shaler.

Anyone interested in applying can register online. Walk-ins are also welcome.
