$1 million lottery winner from Robinson Giant Eagle

A $1 million winning ticket was sold in Robinson through the Pennsylvania Lottery’s “$1 Million? Seriously?” scratch-off game.

The ticket was sold at the Giant Eagle on Settlers Ridge Center Road, lottery officials announced Monday.

The store earned a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

In addition, lottery officials announced Monday that a $350,000 jackpot-winning ticket for the Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 with Quick Cash was sold April 29 in West Mifflin.

The ticket matched all five balls drawn, 1-3-8-17-20, and was sold at the Buttermilk Hollow Shop’n Save on Buttermilk Hollow Road. The store earned a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket, one of nearly 13,000 to win prizes in the drawing.

Crews battle vacant house fire in East Pittsburgh

Emergency crews battle a fire on Center Street in East Pittsburgh early Tuesday morning.
 

Emergency crews were called early Tuesday morning to fire in a vacant house on the 400 block of Center Street in East Pittsburgh.

The fire was reported around 3:30 a.m., according to Allegheny County 911 officials.

As of 6 a.m., no injuries had been reported.

License place replacement 

AAA East Central will host several Pittsburgh-area events for drivers to replace peeling or illegible license plates for free.

A plate is deemed illegible when one or more letters or numbers cannot be read from 50 feet away, or if it shows blistering, peeling, or loss of reflectivity. Vehicle owners can be fined up to $100 for an illegible plate.

Events will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.:
