Electronic waste collection set at Cook Medical
Cook Medical will host a free electronic waste collection from 8 a.m. to noon April 26 at its Parks Township location, 1186 Montgomery Lane.
Items that will be accepted include computers, CRTs, flat screen and projection televisions, battery backups, CRT computer monitors, cellphones, tablets, rotary phones, solar panels, lead acid batteries, gaming systems, printers, keyboards, mice, hard drives, circuit boards, laptops, servers and cords.
Unacceptable items include fluorescent bulbs, light bulbs, U-shaped LED lights, LED bulbs, alkaline batteries, broken lamps, smoke detectors, multi vapor bulbs, neon lamps, lithium batteries, devices that contain mercury and nickel-cadmium batteries.
Cinco de Mayo Galaxy bingo to aid local fire companies
Apollo No. 3 and Bell Township volunteer fire departments will sponsor a Cinco de Mayo Galaxy bingo May 3 at Apollo No. 3 firehall, 707 N. Fifth St.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 8 p.m. There will be black lights, minute-to-win-it games and instant bingos. Must be at least 18.
Tickets are $30 and include bingo supplies, galaxy apparel, food, beer and soft drinks. Reserved seating is available for groups of eight or more. For tickets, stop in at 6:30 p.m. Mondays at Bell Township Firehall or 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Apollo No. 3 firehall.
Free STEAM camp planned in New Kensington
A free summer STEAM Camp for students who will enter first through sixth grade in the fall will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 9 to 12 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Fourth Ave., New Kensington.
