Pittsburgh police have obtained an arrest warrant for a man accused of attacking two people Downtown with a knife on Friday.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Friday morning, police were called to Penn Avenue and 10th Street for a dispute. A bicycle officer headed to the scene saw one man running after another another, threatening to kill him. The officer saw the man in the back carrying a small knife, and took him to the ground to make an arrest.
The victim continued running from the scene and did not return. Officers identified the suspect as Clarence E. Thomas, 42, of Pittsburgh. However, without victim information, police were required to release Thomas pending further investigation.
Police later learned of a second victim, and spent several hours searching for both victims. They were eventually able to locate them through the initial 911 call, take statements and file for an arrest warrant.
Thomas is wanted on two counts of making terroristic threats, simple assault and possession of crime instruments.
