It’s a great weekend to love animals, music and the city we live in. Celebrate Pittsburgh — and yourself! — with these five events around town rocking all weekend long.

412 Day Block Party

412 Food Rescue will be celebrating 10 years of supporting the community on Saturday, 4/12.

Included in this all-ages party at Velum Fermentation on the South Side are flash tattoos, a photo booth, live performances and speakers, tarot card readings, a vendor market, food trucks and free ice cream scoops from Millie’s.

There are temporary tattoos, a meet and greet with Rooty the 412 Food Rescue carrot and more for kids, too. The party will go from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Learn more at 412foodrescue.org.

Handmade Arcade Spring Market

Spring cleaning means spring redecorating, whether it’s your home, your garden or yourself. Come and find all of the locally-made goods you need for the new season at Handmade Arcade’s Spring Market.

With more than 30 vendors selling jewelry, artwork, pottery, crafts, accessories and more, you’re bound to fall in love with something new. The market will also feature food and drink vendors, youth vendors, live art demonstrations and more.

The Spring Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Construction Junction in Point Breeze North. Learn all the details at handmadearcade.org.

Paws and Claws at the Science Center

Animal lovers of all types can celebrate their furry, feathered and scaled friends at this month’s 21 Night at the Carnegie Science Center on the North Shore. This is the perfect chance to celebrate National Pets Day.

Who doesn’t love the opportunity to snuggle therapy dogs from Animal Friends and sip themed cocktails at the same event? There will be kitties to meet as well, and small mammals from Underground Squeaks. You can laser-etch your own pet tags, view the Science Center’s Animal Ambassadors and learn about veterinary science.

Plus, explore all of the Science Center after dark. Tickets are $25 for non-members and $20 for members. The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Carnegie Science Center. Learn more and get tickets at carnegiesciencecenter.org.
