Crash injured 1, closes McKnight Road lanes
At least one person was injured following a crash Monday morning that left all northbound lanes closed to traffic on McKnight Road in Ross for more than four hours.
Medics took one person from the scene shortly after 3 a.m. near Babcock Boulevard, according to an Allegheny County 911 supervisor.
Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV reported one vehicle struck a utility pole.
Northbound lanes between McIntyre and Peebles roads were reopened to traffic around 7:45 a.m.
Medical Examiner: Woman found in Mon River was drowning victim
A woman whose body was recovered from the Monongahela River in August died of drowning, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
A ruling is pending on the manner of death for Gloria Anderson, 38, of Pittsburgh, whose body was spotted in the river near the Mon Wharf on Aug. 18. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
1 teen killed, 2nd injured in Butler County crash
One teenage boy was killed and another suffered minor injuries Sunday evening in a one-car crash in Butler County, state police reported.
Police didn’t release the names of the Butler teens. Troopers said a 15-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 17-year-old driver was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The wreck was reported at 6:15 p.m. on Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township. The SUV in which the teens were riding went off the snow-covered road and struck a tree, police said.
Pittsburgh police: Uber driver carjacked in Knoxville
An Uber driver reported being carjacked around 1 a.m. Monday near Charles and Amanda streets in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood, according to city police.
The driver, who wasn’t harmed, told police at least two male suspects took his white Nissan Altima at gunpoint as he was responding to pick up a customer.
Police are investigating.
