A New Jersey man remains jailed after police say he attacked his wife’s former paramour at a Monroeville hotel last week.
Vincent Serzan, 46, is charged with felony aggravated assault and related charges after police say he attacked the man and knocked him unconscious — causing severe facial injuries — according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI.
Monroeville police responded to a report around 11:30 p.m. Friday of a man lying along Mall Boulevard, outside the DoubleTree Hotel.
Officers found the victim bleeding and unconscious with severe facial trauma.
A doctor later told officers “every bone in (the man’s) face was broken.”
Witnesses helped police to identify Serzan as the suspect. He later admitted to officers that he had an altercation with the victim, according to the criminal complaint.
Serzan told police said his wife had an affair with the man a few months ago. He told police he “snapped” when he encountered the man at the hotel.
An officer who also is a paramedic said the injured man was taken to a hospital and placed in a medically-induced coma and on a ventilator because of his injuries.
His condition was unavailable Wednesday.
Serzan is being held without bail in the Allegheny County Jail. His preliminary hearing is set for next week.
