From cookie lovers to Swifties to those who can’t get enough of the holiday season, Pittsburgh will offer a little something for everyone this weekend. Grab a cocktail, beer or sweet treat, enjoy some tunes and relax with these events.
Lawrenceville Cookie Tour
This weekend is the perfect time to check out some of Lawrenceville’s unique and thriving businesses — and sample delicious cookies in the process.
On Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., shoppers can visit businesses that display a gingerbread man outside in Upper and Lower Lawrenceville to get a cookie — and see what the business has to offer. There will also be trolleys ferrying sugar-hungry attendees on Butler Street and Penn Avenue to reach every last treat.
Don’t miss out on this 26-year holiday tradition. Visit lvpgh.com to see a map of participating businesses, and to vote for the spot with the best cookie — the winner of the vote will receive the coveted Cookie Tour Cup.
South Side Breakfast with Santa
On Saturday morning, Velum Fermentation on Pittsburgh’s South Side will host a winter wonderland of refreshments and fun for kids and adults alike. From 10 a.m. to noon, attendees can enjoy free breakfast and coffee from Cup-ka-Joe’s and winter activities for kids.
There will be cookie decorating, crafts and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. There will also be toys, games and music for kids to experience in the holiday-decorated space.
For the grown-ups, it’s a chance to purchase Velum’s seasonal cranberry sour beer, with a portion of the proceeds going to the South Side Kids group to make events like this one possible.
