The Monroeville Public Library will once again be transformed into an 18-hole indoor miniature golf course for two fundraisers on Feb. 24
The first is an all-ages event, and begins at 10 a.m., with the last tee off at 3:45 p.m. Entry is $5 per person, and children age 3 and younger are free. Tickets include one round of mini golf. Snacks and drinks will also be available for purchase.
The second time slot begins at 5:30 p.m., with 9:45 p.m. being the last tee off. This is an age 21 and older event. Tickets are $35 and include unlimited mini golf, food and drinks. Options include both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The course encompasses the upstairs and downstairs of the library, with one hole incorporating both floors. Alice Rathjen, library head of public relations, said this is the second year for the library’s mini golf bash. There also will be a seating area for eating and socializing.
“You could really feel it, in the atmosphere. Everyone was relaxed and living in the moment,” Rathjen stated, of last year’s function. “There was truly a sense of community, and everyone was having a great time.”
Tickets for both mini golf events go on sale Jan. 15. When purchasing tickets, patrons can select a broad time frame depending on when they think they will attend. Rathjen said the library will not strictly adhere to the times but are using them as more of a suggestion to allow for space between golfers.
“The goal is for everyone to have fun and not feel rushed,” Rathjen said.
All proceeds benefit the Monroeville Public Library, 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd.
