Franklin Regional open house schedule

Franklin Regional schools will host a series of open house nights for new and incoming students to get familiar with their respective buildings.

• FR Primary and Intermediate schools: 6-7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 for grades 2 and 5; Aug. 16 for kindergarten and grade 3; Aug. 19 for grades 1 and 4.

• FR Middle School: 6:30-8 p.m. Aug. 15 for grade 8; Aug. 16 for grade 6; and Aug. 19 for grade 7.

• FR Senior High School: 6:30-8 p.m. Aug. 15, 16 and 19 for students in all grades.

Elementary and middle-school students can find their classrooms, meet their teachers on the designated grade nights, visit special classrooms and tour common areas. High-school students can attend any of three nights for self-guided tours and to walk their daily class schedules.

Woman’s club art show seeking submissions

The Murrysville Woman’s Club will host its annual art show Oct. 25-26, and is seeking artist submissions.

The show is open to all artists, from students to amateurs to those with experience. All work must be original (no molds, kits or copies). This year’s judge is Jeffrey Rouse, owner of New Growth Gallery in New Alexandria.

Pizza party fundraiser

The Delmont Public Library will host a pizza fundraiser from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 10. Adults will be able to purchase two slices of pizza and two beers for $30. Pizza will be provided by the nearby Fox’s Pizza Den, and the Delmont Community Band will provide live music. There will also be a silent auction

Float-building workshop

Families taking part in the Delmont Daze Wagon Parade on Aug. 3 are invited to attend an Aug. 1 float-building work session at the Delmont Public Library.

Boy Scout Troop 207 members will be on hand to help turn bikes, wagons and scooters into floats.

It will be from 3-6:30 p.m. at the library, 75 School Street in Delmont.

Delmont Daze will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 3, with a borough parade at 1 p.m. This year’s theme is “Western Wagons.”

Butterfly release

The Delmont Public Library will host a release party for monarch butterflies currently growing in the library.

It will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 10 outside the library, 75 School Street in Delmont.
