Franklin Regional High School hosted its second annual Mini-THON on Wednesday, raising more than $33,000 to support pediatric cancer patients and their families.

The fundraising culminated in a four-hour celebration where students and teachers participated in games and activities.

The school organized a Mini-THON Club last school year, inviting students to help organize the fundraising effort during their quality resource time and lunch periods. Students raised about $23,000 last year.

The event is inspired by Penn State’s THON, which generated more than $17 million this year for Four Diamonds, a nonprofit based in Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.
